Published Sat 16 Mar 2019

Three juniors, Absolute (ex), Red r'OWE'ch and Boiii were lucky enough to spend last weekend as members of the "Quad Squad" which is made up of Level 4  (DIV 1)  skaters from NSW and ACT.

The teams represented were Little Adelaide Rollers, Tasmania, Queensland, Victoria, Perth and NSW/ACT.

The event comprised of three games from each of the teams and ended up as follows;

SATURDAY

10:00 AM / NSW/ACT 561 - TAS 93
11:45 AM / LAR 425 - PJRD 53
1:30 PM / NSW/ACT Quad Squad 193 - QLD 177
3:15 PM / VJRD 535 - TAS 38
5:00 PM / VRDL Queen Bees 138 - CRDL Vice City Rollers 127
6:45 PM / VMRD The Vanguard 186 - VDL Capital Carnage 97

SUNDAY

9:00 AM / VJRD 279 - PJRD 189
10:45 AM / QLD 464 - TAS 38
12:30 PM / NSW/ACT 191 - LAR 120
2:15 PM / U12 VJRD / Slammers Black 210 - Slammers White 138
3:45 PM / QLD 249 - PJRD 196
5:30 PM / VJRD 206 - LAR 165

The skaters had a great time on and off track with many of the teams staying at the same caravan park.

They were also part of a boot camp on the Monday hosted by the VRDL All Stars where they were taught some great moves to improve their game.

Some of the highlights from the weekend were;

* Red collecting commentators choice on the Saturday and the NSW/ACT joint player of the tournament.

* Boiii and Abs filling in for the Perth team on the final day bringing their total games to 5 over the two days.

* The guts of the Tasmanian team who had many small players who showed some great courage against some fierce opponents.

* Watching Jackhammer from Perth tip-toe around the edge of the track despite his size.  I had previously watched him online play for the Perth men's team which is no mean feet for a 14 year old.

* The YMCA performed by QLD and many of the other skaters and supporters.
